The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), under the Ministry of Railways, is making impressive strides in redeveloping Nagpur Railway Station in Maharashtra.

In partnership with the Nagpur Division of Central Railways, this Rs 487.77 crore project aims to modernise the station’s infrastructure while preserving its historic charm, providing a seamless and comfortable experience for all passengers.

Construction Updates

East Side: Construction is progressing well, with work underway on a new basement to improve parking facilities.

West Side: On the west side, basement construction is also moving forward. The work is being completed in two phases to minimise disruption. Phase I has been finished, and Phase II is now in full swing. As part of Phase II, the Monumental National Flag (Tiranga), located in the construction zone, will be relocated to a more prominent position. Additionally, the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) on the west side will be shifted to the southern side near Platform 1’s exit gate.

RLDA is committed to reducing passenger inconvenience during the redevelopment. The station will feature better parking, upgraded amenities, and modernised facilities, all while retaining the historic essence of the station building.

Phased Execution Plan

The redevelopment is being carried out in phases to ensure that train operations continue without disruption, allowing passengers to travel with minimal inconvenience.

Speaking about the latest editions, company’s Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee said, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “At many places, the RTO registration charges change at Rs. 5.00 lakh, so in order to take care of customers because affordability is an important point, we have strategically priced this limited edition at Rs. 4.99 lakh. With this, we aim to meet the customer expectations in the segment.”
