If you like your flapjacks chewy, buttery, and extra-gooey, this is the homemade recipe for you. These golden syrup flapjacks are perfect for a quick snack, an after-school treat, or something sweet with your afternoon tea. You can make them from scratch in just 30 minutes, including baking time, and using ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen cupboard.
Sharing this recipe online, Good Food pointed out: “Bake these 4-ingredient flapjacks – they’re easy to make and ready in half an hour. Add chocolate drops, desiccated coconut or sultanas, if you like.”
Method
Preheat the oven to 200C (180C for fan-assisted ovens) or gas mark six.
Put the oats, butter, sugar, and golden syrup into a food processor and blend briefly, just until combined. Take care not to blend excessively, as this could compromise the texture of the oats.
Grease a 20cm by 20cm square baking tin with a small amount of butter. Transfer the mixture into the tin and press it firmly into the edges using the back of a spoon, levelling the surface evenly.
Mark the mixture into twelve portions, then bake for approximately fifteen minutes, or until the top has turned a rich golden colour.
