Bengaluru: Hebbal Flyover Loop Set To Open Soon, But Will It Really Ease Traffic Woes? | Auto News

A new flyover loop at Bengaluru’s busy Hebbal junction is almost ready to open.

This loop connects traffic from Nagavara directly to the main flyover, a move that city officials say will ease the notorious jams at this key interchange.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic – Northeast) Pradeep BU shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “New Hebbal flyover loop coming from Nagavara getting finished… to be soon open… This will ease traffic at Hebbal.”

The area sees massive traffic daily from KR Puram, the airport road, and Nagavara, making it one of the city’s worst choke points, as per Hindustan Times.

Are Commuters Happy?

While some users on social media welcomed the update, many expressed doubts. “That’s a partial relief. Waiting for the other loops to open,” said one user.

Others warned of a potential new jam zone near the Baptist Hospital bus stop, where traffic from different directions is expected to merge. “Don’t let buses block the road. Make sure they stop properly,” one commuter urged.

A common concern? The problem may not be solved—it might just shift. “The choke point is just moving 250 metres ahead,” said another user.

What About the Metro Mess?

The situation is being made worse by metro construction nearby. Commuters pointed out that barricades placed in the middle of the road between Manyata Tech Park and Kalyan Nagar are making peak-hour traffic unbearable.

Will the New Loop Help?

The new flyover loop is definitely a step in the right direction. But unless the other loops are completed soon and metro construction is better managed, Hebbal’s traffic nightmare may continue.
