The monsoon season demands extra caution while on the street, especially if you are driving a car. Slippery roads can lead to accidents, making it essential to slow down. One wrong move and boom! Your car is likely to skid on the rain-slicked paths, causing you to lose control. In a similar display of monsoon mayhem, terrifying footage has gone viral where an Amazon truck was seen losing control on wet pavement and sliding into a densely clustered bush of trees. The incident happened in Iowa City, USA.
The clip opens to the truck driver narrowly escaping hitting another four-wheeler as it slips on the rain-soaked road. According to a report by KCRG, the truck was travelling southbound on Riverside Drive when it seemed to skid while manoeuvring a curve. It veered to the left dramatically before smashing into a row of trees along the sidelines.
As per ABC News, the incident led to property damage, but other than that, no one was hurt. The side note read, “Dramatic video shows the moment an Amazon truck driver in Iowa lost control and swerved off the road into some trees. While there was some property damage, nobody was hurt in the accident, police said.”
The internet was quick to react to the video. While many were relieved that there were no casualties, a few took the matter in jest.
“Appears to have overcorrected,” joked a user. “Those trucks were not meant to drift,” noted another. “I was waiting for him to roll up outta there by the VA sign and get back on the road,” revealed one person. This individual shared that the truck skidding on the road, “looked pretty cool and in control for a few seconds there.”
“Glad to hear no one was hurt in that scary accident. Safety is the top priority—hope the driver and everyone involved are doing okay,” commented a concerned user. “Did you purposely head into those trees? Quick thinking, if so,” guessed someone else.
The incident happened on the heels of another similar disaster where an 18-year-old woman drove her Chevy Malibu into the Iowa River, as per a local report. She was charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
